Getting It Right.
I’m Brian, a graphic designer based in Australia.
I’ve been doing this for over 20 years. Started out building websites back in 2001, including Davao’s first online automotive magazine. That early background in tech gave me a different way of looking at design. I don’t just think about how things look. I think about how they work.
Over the years I’ve moved across a lot of areas. UI design, IT support, social media, branding. For 11 years I handled all the creative output at Hobbies R Us in the Philippines. Store graphics, social media campaigns, branding, all of it.
Now I’m in Australia at Rogue Print and Mail working as a Graphic Designer and Prepress Technician. Day to day that means designing marketing materials for clients and managing the full prepress process. CMYK, bleed, preflight checks, print-ready PDFs, that kind of thing. Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign are my daily tools.
For me every day is a learning stage. I make it a point to stay on top of the latest tools and trends because the industry moves fast and I move with it. I’m always willing to pick up something new and I pick things up quickly.

Graphic Designer

- Prepared and optimised all artwork files for commercial print production, ensuring correct CMYK colourmodes, bleed settings, trim marks, and image resolution (min. 300 dpi).
- Performed comprehensive preflight checks to identify and resolve file issues — missing fonts, RGBimages, incorrect bleed — before artwork reached press.
- Generated print-ready PDFs and imposed files for efficient press output, coordinating with production team to ensure accurate final results.
- Adjusted layouts and artwork to meet a wide range of printing substrates and finishing requirements, including spot UV, lamination, and die-cut specifications
